Purpose:
To tell Tamar Esk stories to Tamar Esk people wherever they are.
Objectives:
- To be a clearing house for news and information relevant to the people of the Tamar/Esk region in Tasmania in a 21st Century context.
- To facilitate the dissemination of information pertinent to the people of the Tamar/Esk region via a network of networks.
- To establish a network of writers and other committed to the Tamar region's sense of place and the stories that belong in and to the region.
- To generate and promote income opportunities for people of the region via interfacing and platforms with rhizomic connections.
- To promote the sponsorship of Tamar/Esk region enterprises, cultural producers, writers, et al via publications developed and produced in the Tamar/Esk region
- To be an active component of the Tamar/Esk region's 'cultural landscape'
Guiding Principle:
- In recent years the Tamar/Esk region in Tasmania has not been well served by the digitization and the reconfiguration of news delivery relevant to the region.
- The publication of information pertinent to the people of a region via multiple networks and across interfacing platforms fits the circumstances of the 21st Century.
- Local cum regional networks of cultural producers, writers, et al are increasingly important in order that a region' sense of place, its 'placedness', can be asserted and celebrated. This especially so as Tasmania's 'regional press' is sidelined by the large corporate players in publishing demonstrated by their reconfigurations and amalgamations.
- With the globalisation of markets there is a need to create new income opportunities for local people and the interfacing of digital networks with other platforms can offer new opportunities.
- For local economies to be resilient there is a need for region enterprises across a broad spectrum to develop and produce regionally relevant economies based upon local resources and opportunities.
- The Tamar/Esk region's 'cultural landscape' both shapes and is shaped by the region's physical geography plus the social and cultural imperatives that impact themselves upon 'placescaping'.

- Establish a publication cooperative and work towards building up a network of contributors and service providers capable producing quality material that meets the needs of local audiences and audiences elsewhere via both digital and targeted hardcopy 'occasional publications'.
- Establish a network of sponsors and advertisers who can gain a benefit from their sponsorship of either periodic publications and/or occasional publications directed towards various target audiences.
- Develop an Internet base publication network that is focused upon the publication of local news and cultural information and relevant to the region initially via social media platforms and ultimately via a mix of digital and hardcopy formats published both randomly and periodically.
- The publication of regular publications pertinent to the people of the Tamar/Esk and the region's diaspora via interfacing platforms fits the circumstances of the 21st Century.
- Publish intermittent publications in the form of anthologies etc, that focus upon the work of regionally based writers, et al that celebrate the region's 'placedness' for local audiences and audiences elsewhere.
- Actively participate in the critical discourses that make and shape the Tamar/Esk region's cultural landscape via placemaking and placemarking.
